HubSpot CMS Hub Migration

Website Migration|March 2023 – April 2023

The Challenge

EDO's marketing team was stuck. Their website was cobbled together from different data sources, and every content update required an engineer's involvement. For a company whose clients include Disney, Amazon, and Netflix, the marketing team needed to move fast — publishing case studies, updating product pages, and launching campaign landing pages without filing engineering tickets. The in-house developers had more important things to build than updating marketing copy.

What We Did

Platform Evaluation & Selection

Evaluated multiple website solutions with the EDO team. HubSpot CMS Hub was selected for its combination of a visual page builder, structured data capabilities (HubDB), and native integration with HubSpot's marketing tools.

Migration Execution

Completed the full migration within 4 weeks:

  • Page Migration: Rebuilt key marketing pages using CMS Hub's drag-and-drop editor, maintaining design fidelity while adding editorial flexibility
  • HubDB Implementation: Migrated structured data from external sources into HubDB tables, creating a centralized data layer that powers dynamic page content
  • Blog Migration: Moved all existing blog content into CMS Hub Blog, consolidating publishing into a single platform
  • Quality Assurance: Reviewed all migrated content for accuracy, formatting, and link integrity

Team Training & Handoff

Rather than doing everything and handing over a finished product, trained the EDO team to participate in the migration process. This approach meant the team understood CMS Hub deeply by launch day — they weren't learning a new tool, they'd already been using it. Training covered page creation, blog publishing, HubDB management, and content updates.

RESULTS

Outcome

EDO's marketing team went from dependent-on-engineering to fully self-sufficient in 4 weeks. The website streamlined their operation, making it faster to build new pages, create campaign assets, and update content. The engineering team was freed from routine content requests, and the marketing team had a platform that matched the speed at which they needed to operate — supporting clients like Disney and Netflix with timely, polished content.
